First and foremost, we are steadfast in our support for our local police. We are committed to ensuring our law enforcement officers have the robust funding, training, and resources they need. By investing in our police departments, we can foster community-focused policing that keeps our streets secure and builds lasting, mutual trust between officers and the residents they serve.

Equally critical to our community's safety is rigorous regulatory oversight. We stand firmly behind our local government agencies, particularly Code Enforcement, in their mission to protect the public. As Manteno evolves and new developments are proposed, it is non-negotiable that all commercial, structural, and industrial projects strictly adhere to our building codes and safety regulations.

We will ensure that our code enforcement and safety compliance departments are fully funded, adequately staffed, and empowered to do their jobs without interference. We expect these agencies to hold all developers to the highest possible safety standards, prioritizing the well-being of our citizens over rapid expansion.

For too long, our local government has been stalled by dysfunction, infighting, and unnecessary disputes. When our elected officials fail to work together, it is the citizens of Manteno who pay the price. It is time to turn the page and restore a true semblance of functional, effective governance to our village board.

We believe that public service requires collaboration, not constant conflict. By electing Manteno Leadership Party candidates to the board, we are committing to a new era of cooperation. We pledge to work side-by-side with fellow trustees and the mayor—negotiating in good faith, compromising when necessary, and always keeping the best interests of our residents at the forefront of every decision.

Fiscal Responsibility

The Financial Reality

Manteno’s reinvestment of the water and wastewater sale proceeds funded vital amenities and infrastructure, preparing us for decades of future growth. While these investments leave us debt-free and in a fundamentally sound fiscal position, they also heavily depleted our reserves, placing real constraints on our current operational budget.

Tough but Necessary Decisions

The Manteno Leadership Party believes tax dollars should be actively reinvested to improve our community, not hoarded by the government. However, facing our current operational constraints, we must be transparent: continuing to pay residential refuse collection bills and abating the village’s portion of property taxes is no longer feasible. We choose honest leadership and long-term stability over empty promises.

Growing Without Raising Your Taxes

We must find new revenue to support our daily operations, but not at the expense of our citizens. Our plan is to aggressively pursue new funding by expanding Manteno's commercial and industrial footprint. This strategic development will generate new property tax levies, securing the funding our community needs—without raising the current tax burden on our residents.

Expanding our housing supply helps to reduce overall housing costs and opens the door to homeownership for more families.
